WEBSITE PLANNING
Review a Staging Website Without Confusing It With the Live Site
Give useful feedback on a preview while preserving a clear boundary between review content and published business information.
Confirm what you are reviewing
Record the preview address and version or review date. Ask which features are functional and which are placeholders. Do not treat a payment, booking or inquiry screen as safe for a live transaction merely because it appears in a preview. The team should identify the approved test approach.
Consolidate feedback by task
Review the customer journey and group comments by page, issue and desired result. Separate factual corrections from design preferences and new scope. For example, correcting a phone number is different from requesting a new booking integration. Use a single agreed feedback record so contradictory instructions do not reach the developer independently.
Close the review clearly
Confirm which changes have been completed and which remain open before authorizing publication. Ask how preview restrictions and production configuration will be handled at launch. The preview being accessible does not prove that the live domain, forms or analytics are configured correctly. Keep final approval tied to the reviewed version.
Apply this to your business
Write down the current situation, the decision you need to make and the person who can confirm the facts. North Front Digital can discuss a scoped review through our relevant service overview. When you request a quote, include your website address if you have one and the customer task you want to improve. Deliverables, access, timing and price are confirmed in writing before work begins.
