WEBSITE PLANNING
Make a Website Account Access Inventory
List the accounts behind your site without collecting passwords in an ordinary document.
Inventory services, not secrets
Record the service name, business purpose, account owner and who currently has access. Include hosting, domain registration, analytics, forms, email delivery and booking tools where applicable. Do not place passwords, recovery codes or API keys in the inventory. Its purpose is to show responsibility and dependencies.
Identify gaps before work begins
Mark accounts whose owner is unclear or whose access depends entirely on a former contractor. Ask the legitimate owner to resolve those gaps through the provider’s normal process. Do not create duplicate analytics properties or booking accounts merely because the existing one is hard to locate.
Scope access to the work
Agree which capabilities the developer needs and for how long. Prefer the service’s supported invitation or role system where available. Record how access will be reviewed at handover. The business should understand which systems continue to operate after the project and who can respond if an integration stops working.
Apply this to your business
Write down the current situation, the decision you need to make and the person who can confirm the facts. North Front Digital can discuss a scoped review through our relevant service overview. When you request a quote, include your website address if you have one and the customer task you want to improve. Deliverables, access, timing and price are confirmed in writing before work begins.
