WEBSITE PLANNING
Keep a Website Change Log That Supports Decisions
Record meaningful changes with their purpose and review date so later analytics discussions have useful context.
Record the change, not every keystroke
For each substantive update, note the date, affected pages, reason and person responsible. Include the published version or other recovery reference when available. Small typo corrections do not need the same detail as a form change or a new service page.
Separate the hypothesis from the result
Write the intended effect, such as making the quote process clearer, as a hypothesis. Do not label it a conversion improvement before measuring outcomes. Record any known reporting delay or overlap with other changes. This makes later interpretation more honest and useful.
Set a suitable review
Choose a review date based on the available traffic and reporting cadence. Preserve actual counts alongside percentages and note missing data. If another change is needed urgently to fix a broken customer path, make it and record the exception. The log supports judgment; it should not prevent necessary corrections just to preserve an experiment.
Apply this to your business
Write down the current situation, the decision you need to make and the person who can confirm the facts. North Front Digital can discuss a scoped review through our relevant service overview. When you request a quote, include your website address if you have one and the customer task you want to improve. Deliverables, access, timing and price are confirmed in writing before work begins.
